so i ended up at Nordstrom Rack with my mom earlier and right before we checked out, when they were already ushering people to hurry the fuck up and get out, i spotted the neatest purple wool coat and immediately thought "oh shit, this would be perfect for halloween!". so i bought it.

well, now i realize it's not so much purple as blue. :/ idk what to do with it now, though. i've been looking online for a purple coat (that isn't some cheapo costume thing, because i'd rather buy something i can use outside of the halloween week) for a while now and they're all pretty expensive, around $70+. this was only $35 (with a 'retail value' of $100)...do i keep it and make do or return it and hope to find something better for around the same price..? ahh!

it looked so nice under the store lights, but it is so damn royal blue here, unless i zap it with the flash, and then it just looks like a lighter blue.

boo urns. :(

That is a really nice coat, and a very good deal at $35 for sure! I think the bottom line is, do you think it would be something you can see yourself wearing? Would it work well with the clothes you already have? Because one thing I have learned - a bargain is only a bargain if it's put to good use. (I have wasted so much $$$ on 'Bargains', then get them home and realize they don't fit me or don't work out for crap - and then pray that the stores will take them back - yes I am an avid reciept saver - even if its a few bucks - hey, that could be food or Starbucks for me there! LOL!!!)

I do believe that the Rack, though maybe nopt as long of days as the actual Nordie's, pretty much follows the same excellent return policy (I'm a WA State native, so yeah, I know my Nordstrom's pretty well! LOL!! Do double check your reciept for the info though, but it seemed to me that they still followed along those lines!)

Hope this helps (and yes, I know I ramble! LOL!!!)

oh man, i am such a sucker for sales & bargains. that is good advice because i don't even want to think about how much i've wasted on things bought purely because they were 'on sale'. and yep, i would definitely wear it to death during the fall, i'd just feel guilty having to buy another coat, heh.

i keep receipts too. there is no organization, though, i just chuck them all in my top dresser drawer and go through the piles every few weeks, chucking old ones, lol. i just checked the receipt and i have 30 days to mull it over.

i think i'll keep it, i do like it, but i feel better knowing i've got a few days to think it over.

you did help, bb! <3 i tend to ramble too, don't worry. :P
